Two companies won auction for construction of 100 MW wind farm in Abai region

QAZAQ GREEN. On June 17, 2024, auctions were held to select projects for the construction of RES wind power plants for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
10 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 8 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted amounted to 510.001 MW.
The maximum auction price approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the auction for the selection of WPP projects in 2024 was 22.68 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
There is a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 9 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the following companies were identified as winners:
- LLP «Shual», the installed capacity of the project is 10.001 MW, the auction price is 9 tg/kWh (excluding VAT);
- LLP «Neptune Wind», the installed capacity of the project is 89.999 MW, the auction price is 10.37 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
The project is planned to be placed in the Abai region.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association», ALE «KAZENERGY» and USAID took part as observers. Observers note the full transparency of the auction organizer's electronic trading system – JSC «KOREM».
According to the approved Schedule, the next auction is scheduled for September 2024.
