Kazakhstan to host 2nd Hydrogen Business Summit in Central Asia and Caspian Region

QAZAQ GREEN. The 2nd Hydrogen Business Summit "Hydrogen in Central Asia and Caspian Region", organized by Globuc, will be held in Astana on September 17, 2024. The event will bring together leading experts and industry representatives to discuss pressing issues and prospects for the development of hydrogen energy in the region.

Key topics of the summit:

•           Strategies for transition to a hydrogen economy:

- Discussion of decarbonization pathways in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

- Presentation of low-carbon development initiatives in Kazakhstan and the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in promoting the green economy.

Key projects and industry leaders:

•           Presentation of green hydrogen production projects, including initiatives by Kazakh Invest and the construction of a blue ammonia plant in Turkmenistan.

Participation of companies such as Svevind and ACWA Power in the development of hydrogen energy in the region.

Innovations in hydrogen production, storage and transportation:

•           Discussion of hydrogen export infrastructure and the application of digital technologies.

Addressing standardization and certification issues for hydrogen projects.

Decarbonization of industry:

•           Sharing successful cases and innovative approaches to reducing the carbon footprint.

Discussion of the requirements and prospects for the use of clean hydrogen by major consumers from the mining and petrochemical industries.
