Training for businesses: GIZ organizes seminars on renewable energy in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) has announced the launch of a tailored initiative, “Supporting the Implementation of the Carbon Neutrality Strategy in the Private Sector in Kazakhstan.” This project is part of GIZ’s broader regional initiative CDCPIII (Capacity Development for Climate Policy in South-East and Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia). The initiative aims to strengthen institutional and technical capacities in achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, with a focus on knowledge sharing and fostering dialogue among industry associations, policymakers, and the public.
In collaboration with international consultancy HEAT and the Qazaq Green RES Association, GIZ is hosting a series of training workshops. These seminars are designed to raise awareness among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), government agencies, and financial institutions about the implementation of renewable energy projects (RES). The training will cover the application of small-scale renewable energy technologies, financial and technical considerations for project implementation, and how to integrate these technologies into existing power grids.
On October 4, 2024, GIZ will launch a series of webinars aimed at enhancing competencies in the implementation of renewable energy projects across Kazakhstan. This event is organized as part of the same initiative, with contributions from the IKI regional project and additional partners.
The webinars will introduce representatives from SMEs, financial institutions, and government bodies to the opportunities offered by renewable energy projects, while addressing the practical aspects of financing and integrating green technologies.
The program features two online webinars focused on developing expertise in the field of renewable energy.
The first webinar will help SMEs and financial organizations enhance their understanding of applying renewable energy technologies. Attendees will explore the potential for small-scale RES in Kazakhstan, recent legislative changes, their financial implications, and review successful case studies of green technology implementation. Featured speakers include environmental and sustainability expert Bulat Yesekin, green project finance specialist Aidar Kazybaev, and sustainable development policy expert Yerlan Dairbekov.
The second webinar will address the integration of low-capacity renewable energy sources into distribution networks. Participants will learn about forecasting and managing electricity demand from RES, the role of energy storage systems in grid stability, and the implementation of Smart Grid technologies. The session will be led by energy systems and RES integration expert Bekzhan Mukatov.
We invite all interested parties to join the webinars and contribute to Kazakhstan’s transition to a sustainable energy future!
