Renewable energy auction results: Vigor Holding to build 30 MW Solar Power Plant

QAZAQ GREEN. On 16 June 2025, an auction was held to select renewable energy projects for the construction of a solar power plant in the Western Zone of Kazakhstan’s Unified Energy System, with a total installed capacity of 30 MW.
Five companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the trading session, 55 price bids were submitted, totalling 150 MW in proposed capacity. The maximum auction price for solar power projects in 2025 was set at 34.61 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Bids submitted during the auction ranged in price from 34.50 KZT/kWh to 14.72 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
As a result of the auction, Vigor Holding LLP was declared the winner with a project capacity of 30 MW and a bid price of 14.72 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Representatives from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives EcoJer, Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Central Asia (SECCA), UNDP, the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and the Kazakhstan Association of Oil, Gas and Energy Organisations KazEnergy participated as observers. They confirmed the transparency of the electronic trading platform managed by the auction organiser KOREM JSC.
The next auction for the selection of solar power projects is scheduled for 17 June 2025 in the Southern Zone, with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.
