KSN Solar wins auction for 20 mw solar power plant in Southern Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. On June 17, 2025, an auction was held to select renewable energy projects for the construction of a solar power plant with a total installed capacity of 20 MW in the Southern Zone of Kazakhstan's Unified Energy System.
Seven companies were admitted to participate in the auction. Over the course of the trading session, 48 price bids were submitted, with the total proposed capacity reaching 140 MW. The ceiling auction price for solar energy projects in 2025 was set at 34.61 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Bids ranged from 34.40 to 13.99 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT), with KSN Solar LLP ultimately winning the auction. The company secured the project with a bid of 13.99 KZT/kWh for a solar plant with an installed capacity of 20 MW.
Representatives from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives "EcoJer", the "Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Central Asia" (SECCA) project, and the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association attended the auction as observers. They confirmed the transparency and integrity of the electronic trading platform managed by KOREM JSC, the official auction operator.
The next auction for the selection of solar projects in the Southern Zone, also with a total installed capacity of 20 MW, is scheduled for June 18, 2025.
