KSN Solar wins auction for 20 MW solar power plant in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. On June 18, 2025, an auction was held to select renewable energy projects for the construction of a solar power plant (SPP) in the Southern Zone of Kazakhstan’s Unified Power System, with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.
Six companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the trading session, a total of 43 price bids were submitted, with a combined proposed capacity of 120 MW. The maximum auction price for SPP projects in 2025 was set at 34.61 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Bids submitted during the session ranged from 34.60 to 13.98 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Following the auction, KSN Solar LLP was announced as the winner. The project will have an installed capacity of 20 MW, with an agreed auction price of 13.98 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Observers from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives “EcoJer,” the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Sources Association attended the auction. They confirmed the transparency of the electronic bidding system operated by KOREM JSC, the official auction organizer.
The next auction for solar power projects in the Southern Zone, with a total installed capacity of 20 MW, is scheduled for June 19, 2025.
