Production of renewable energy share reached 4.6% in Kazakhstan
QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has published information on electricity production by RES facilities for the 9 months of 2022.
During January-September 2022, the volume of electricity produced by RES facilities in the total production of electricity amounted to 3,917.39 million kWh or 4.6%. The increase of electric power generation by RES objects for 9 months of 2022 in comparison with 9 months of 2021 is 21%.
The highest share of electric power generation belongs to WPPs - 1 638,79 mln kWh, the lowest one - to Biomass plants - 1,12 mln kWh, solar power plants produced 1 487,7 mln kWh, small hydropower plants - 789,78 mln kWh.
Currently, the installed capacity of RES facilities is 2 325.3 MW, including wind power plants - 893.9 MW, small hydropower plants - 280.21 MW, solar power plants - 1 149.78 MW, and bioelectric power plants - 1.47 MW.
