Kazakhstan holds centralised auction of electricity capacity in the Mangistau region of the Western zone of the UES
QAZAQ GREEN. On November 21, 2022, the centralised auctions for electricity capacity in the Mangistau region of the Western Zone of UES of Kazakhstan were held on the trading platform of KOREM JSC. The auction included the capacity of transmission lines connecting West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western Zone of UES of Kazakhstan with the Mangistau region of the Western Zone of UES of Kazakhstan, the website of KOREM informs.
The Unified Purchaser and the System Operator provided KOREM JSC with the following initial parameters for centralized bidding of electric capacity:
- forecast demand for electric capacity in the Mangistau region of the Western zone of UES of RK - 484.5 MW;
- Capacity of transmission lines connecting Mangistau region of the West zone of UES RK with the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the West zone of UES RK - 50 MW;
Maximum tariff for electric capacity availability maintenance service - 590 thousand KZT/MW per month (excluding VAT).
Six power-generating organisations took part in the centralised auction of electric capacity.
According to the results of centralized auction of electric capacity, the total volume of sold capacity was 484.5 MW, including 434.5 MW in the Mangistau region and 50 MW in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The number of concluded transactions in the trading system was three.
According to the results of centralized auction of electric capacity, the average weighted price, was 588.97 thousand KZT/MW per month (excluding VAT).
The total volume of bids of power-generating organisations submitted to the trading system amounted to 604 MW. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KAZENERGY observed the centralised auction of electric capacity.
