Results of centralized auction of electric capacity in West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of UES of Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. On November 21, 2021, KOREM JSC held centralized auctions for electric capacity in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of UES of the RK. The auction included the capacity of transmission lines connecting the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of UES of the RK with Mangistau region of the Western zone of UES of the RK, KOREM reports.

The Unified Purchaser and the System Operator provided KOREM JSC with the following initial parameters for centralized bidding of electric capacity:

- forecast demand for electric capacity in West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of UES - 342 MW;

- Capacity of transmission lines connecting West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of West zone of UES of RK with Mangistau region of West zone of UES of RK - 130 MW.
The maximum tariff for electric capacity availability maintenance service is 590 thousand KZT/MW per month (excluding VAT).

Six power-generating organisations participated in the centralised auction of electric capacity.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Electricity Association observed the centralised auction of electric capacity.
According to the results of centralised trades in electric capacity, the total volume of sold capacity amounted to 342 MW. The number of concluded transactions in the trading system was six. 

The weighted average price based on the results of centralized trading in electricity capacity was 586.77 thousand KZT/MW per month (excluding VAT).

The total volume of applications of power-generating organisations submitted to the trading system amounted to 377 MW.
