50 MW Wind Farm to be built in Aktobe region
QAZAQ GREEN. On November 22, Kazakhstan held an auction for RES for the Northern zone of the Unified Electric Network of Kazakhstan to select wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
Ten companies were admitted to the auction; during the bidding session, the participants submitted 37 price bids, with a unit capacity of the projects ranging from 15 to 50 MW. The total volume of bids submitted made 465 MW. The marginal auction price for the selection of WPP projects in 2022 was 21.53 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). During the trading session, the price range of bids received from the auction bidders was between 21.53 and 12.99 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Following the auction results, Next Green Energy LLP (Kazakhstan-China) was determined as the winner. The installed capacity of the project is 50 MW, and the auction price is 12.99 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). The project will be located near the Mugalzhar district of the Aktobe region.
The representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Kazakhstan Electricity Association, KAZENERGY, and Qazaq Green Association observed the auction, and they noted full transparency of the electronic trading system of the organizer of the auction - KOREM JSC.
As a result, the auction price decreased by 39.66 %.
The next auction is scheduled for November 23, 2022, to select projects of wind farms with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
