50 MW Wind Farm to be built in Astana
QAZAQ GREEN. On November 23, 2022, an auction was held on renewable energy for the Northern zone of the Unified Electricity Network of the Republic of Kazakhstan to select wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
Eight companies were allowed to participate in the auction, the participants submitted 31 price offers during the trading session, the unit capacity of the projects ranged from 15 to 50 MW. The total volume of applications submitted was 365 MW. The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of wind farm projects in 2022 was 21.53 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 21.53 to 13.33 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
As a result of the auction, Evrus LLP has been determined as the winner with installed capacity of the project of 50 MW Wind Farm, the auction price is 13.33 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be located in Astana city near Korgalzhyn highway and residential area of Urker village.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association» observed the auction. The observers note the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC «KOREM».
The decrease in the auction price was 38%, which is a good result. Auction auctions are aimed at selecting the most effective projects and forming competitive market prices for electric energy produced by renewable energy facilities.
The next auction is scheduled for November 24, 2022, for the selection of wind farm projects with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
