100 MW wind farm to be built in Ulytau region
QAZAQ GREEN. On November 29, 2022, Kazakhstan held an online auction for renewable energy sources (RES) for the Northern zone of the Unified Electricity Network of Kazakhstan in the Ulytau region for the selection of wind power plants (WPPs) with a capacity of 100 MW, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the RK reports.
Five companies were allowed to participate in the auction. The marginal auction price for the selection of wind power projects in 2022 was 21.53 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
In the course of the trading session, the price range of bids received from the auction bidders was between 21.53 and 12.39 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
As a result of the auction, Mezgilder Qushteri LLP (PRC) with an installed capacity of the project of 100 MW and an auction price of 12.39 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT) determined as the winner.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazEnergy, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, USAID, Qazaq Green RES Association and KOREM JSC participated in the auction as observers. The observers noted that the auction was conducted in accordance with the approved regulatory legal acts and confirmed the transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organiser - KOREM JSC.
As a result of the auction, the auction price decreased by 42.5%. Auction bidding is aimed at selecting the most efficient projects and establishing market-based competitive prices for electricity produced by RES facilities.
The auction is organised by KOREM JSC.
