China’s largest energy storage project enters commissioning phase

QAZAQ GREEN. China’s largest electrochemical energy storage project (600MW/2400MWh) has completed installation at its first site and entered the electrical commissioning phase. This national-level project, the first in China to combine ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission with wind, solar, thermal, and storage, is powered by SINEXCEL’s 1725kW utility-scale Power Conversion System (PCS).
The facility includes 240 battery containers and 60 PCS skids. Once operational, it will integrate around 840 GWh of renewable energy into the grid annually. A single charge stores 2.4 GWh – enough to power 480,000 homes for a day or fully charge 36,000 EVs.
In addition, SINEXCEL’s PCS supports a newly connected 220MW/880MWh storage project in Ningxia, designed to stabilize the grid and reduce solar energy curtailment. It is expected to generate nearly 200 GWh of electricity per year.
SINEXCEL’s 1725kW PCS features modular, scalable architecture with peak efficiency of 98.5%. It supports various battery types, enables flexible system configurations, and is certified across global standards. With over 12 GW of storage deployed in 40+ countries, SINEXCEL continues to lead in delivering smart, resilient energy solutions.
Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL specializes in energy storage, EV charging, and power quality solutions. Its technology portfolio includes over 12 GW of storage capacity, 140,000 EV chargers, and partnerships with global leaders like EVE Energy and Schneider Electric.
