Uzbekistan to commission seven power plants in 2023

QAZAQ GREEN.  Uzbekistan is planning to commission seven power plants with 2.9 GW (1 thermal, 1 wind, 3 solar and 2 hydro) by end-2023, said the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

In particular:

- 1,500 MW thermalpower plant in Shirin city and Boyovut districts of Syrdarya region;

- 500 MW windpower plant in Tomdi district of Navoi region;

- 457 MW solarpower plant in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region;

- 220 MW solarPV plant in Kattakorgan district of Samarkand region;

- 220 MW solar #PV plant in Gallaorol district of Jizzakh region.

- 2 hydroelectric #power stations with a total capacity of 13.6 MW in Samarkand region. Also, Topalang HPP will be modernized and its capacity will be increased from the current 30 MW to 175 MW (+145 MW).

In 2022, 7 new power plants with a total capacity of 1474 MW were put into operation.
