QAZAQ GREEN.  DHL Group and Norwegian energy company Statkraft have signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable electricity from an onshore wind farm in northern Germany, commissioned in 2025.

Under the contract, which took effect in February, Statkraft will supply around 35 GWh of renewable electricity annually — covering roughly 8% of DHL Group's current electricity demand in Germany. The power is generated at the newly built Sollwitt-Pobüll onshore wind park in Schleswig-Holstein, with an installed capacity of 13.2 MW.

The agreement marks DHL Group's first long-term onshore wind PPA in Germany, broadening its renewable procurement beyond offshore wind. By sourcing power directly from a project outside Germany's EEG subsidy scheme, the company strengthens the resilience of its energy supply and supports the expansion of renewable capacity in the country.

Statkraft said the partnership expands its renewable energy solutions into the logistics sector and reinforces its position as a leading provider of tailored PPA models for major industrial customers. "The logistics industry is a key player in the energy transition given its energy requirements. The deal complements DHL Group's existing offshore PPAs in Germany. By adding onshore wind to its portfolio, the company now sources renewable energy from multiple technologies and partners, strengthening local sourcing and ensuring long-term price stability.
