Masdar signs agreement for over 2 GW clean energy development in Uzbekistan
QAZAQ GREEN. Masdar, a global clean energy leader, has signed a joint development agreement with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade.
The partnership aims to develop over 2 gigawatts of solar and wind projects, along with 500 megawatt-hours of battery energy storage across multiple sites in Uzbekistan.
This collaboration strengthens ties between Masdar and Uzbekistan as the country targets 25% renewable energy in its mix by 2030.
Uzbekistan plans to achieve 7 GW of solar and 5 GW of wind capacity by the end of the decade.
Masdar has been involved in Uzbekistan since 2019 and has already completed the Nur Navoi Solar Project and the Zarafshan wind farm. With this new agreement, they will support Uzbekistan's ambitious renewable energy goals.
