LONGi Hydrogen and Acwa Power join hands in green hydrogen project in Uzbekistan

QAZAQ GREEN.  LONGi Hydrogen, the world’s leading green hydrogen production equipment and solution provider, a wholly owned subsidiary of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd, and ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company, leader in energy transition, and first mover into green hydrogen, join hands on the first phase of a 3,000 tonne-per-year green hydrogen project in Uzbekistan, and it is expected to reduce carbon emissions up to 136,000 tons per year.

The first phase, a 3,000-tonne green ammonia pilot project, has achieved cooperation between ACWA Power and LONGi Hydrogen. LONGi Hydrogen will supply the ALK electrolyzer stacks as well as full BoPs for this project. Once the second phase is complete, 2.4 GW of wind energy will power the production of 500,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year. When completed in full, this will be ACWA Power’s second utility-scale green hydrogen project after the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Zhou Wei, General Director of Manufacture and Overseas Sales, LONGi Hydrogen, expressed his enthusiasm:

This is the first project in Central Asia for LONGi Hydrogen which remarks a significant milestone for global development.

“We are thrilled to receive recognition from the global partners for our technologies and capabilities. LONGi Hydrogen is dedicated to providing safe and reliable products to accompany our customers for global project development. Leveraging on our innovative products and experienced team, we will continue to drive down the LCOH and make green hydrogen an affordable energy in the near future.”

Marco Arcelli, ACWA Power CEO, said:

This project marks a significant milestone in Uzbekistan’s energy history, representing the first phase of our collaboration.

“We are proud to be working with our partners to deliver the green hydrogen project, which will make a deep impact on the country’s ambitious energy transition plans. Looking ahead, we are committed to progressing further in the near future to achieve even greater milestones.”
