Kazakhstan launches a platform for job vacancies in renewable energy sector

QAZAQ GREEN. On 5 September experts of EY consulting  and representatives of the Labour Resources Development Centre presented a special web-page on the portal of electronic labour exchange Enbek.kz, EY press-service reports.

The platform with vacancies in the renewable energy sources (RES) sector will be available on a free-of-charge basis for job seekers and employers. The filters implemented by region, type of employment, education level, etc. make it easier to find vacancies and select candidates. The specialised page also contains general information on the programme, excerpts from the RES sector assessment report and links to useful resources related to renewable energy. The initiative was implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Green Climate Fund programme, in cooperation with the Government of Kazakhstan, and aims to support the renewable energy sector as well as promote gender equality in Kazakhstan.

The EY experts are planning an information campaign among employers and job seekers from companies in the renewable energy sector and universities in the country to raise awareness and promote the platform. In the near future, there are also plans to launch a mentoring programme, a workplace training programme for students, the announcement of the Woman in RES award and other activities to support the renewable energy sector and promote gender equality.

Developing and supporting the renewable energy sector in Kazakhstan is part of the national strategic vision for a more sustainable future for the country, which involves not only the development of the technical capacity of the sector but also the promotion of gender equality within the sector.
