Azerbaijan and Huawei plan to build data centre powered by renewable energy

QAZAQ GREEN. Azerbaijan is exploring the possibility of establishing a data centre powered by renewable energy sources in partnership with Chinese tech giant Huawei. According to BMG, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced this potential collaboration on social media platform X, following discussions with Cai Song, Huawei's president of public relations.
During the meeting, Shahbazov highlighted Azerbaijan's focus on green energy projects and the construction of energy corridors and fibre optic cables linking Europe and Asia. The talks with Huawei centred on creating a data centre powered by renewable energy, aligning with Azerbaijan’s broader goals of sustainable development.
Azerbaijan is currently engaged in discussions with several Chinese companies regarding various renewable energy initiatives. The country is exploring cooperation in areas such as energy-saving technologies, grid enhancement, offshore wind power, and exporting green energy. Additionally, there are ongoing exchanges about advanced technologies like high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables.
