QAZAQ GREEN. At the II Investment Forum "Batken Development – Development of the Country," held in Batken, Kyrgyzstan, an agreement was signed with Chinese company Sun Energy Co to implement a major energy project. The company plans to construct a 350 MW solar photovoltaic power plant, marking a significant step towards the region's sustainable development, according to Akchabar.
The $230 million project includes building transmission lines and a 220-kilowatt substation. A total of 669.3 hectares of land has been allocated for the project with support from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, the Batken Oblast administration, and the Green Energy Fund.
"We are launching a 250 MVA/350 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Batken Oblast, which will be a key move towards sustainable regional development," said General Director of Sun Energy Co.
He added that the project will not only supply the region with solar energy but also support the development of agriculture and improve the local environmental conditions. Moreover, it will create around 700 jobs, with local specialists gaining the opportunity to acquire new skills in construction and engineering.
