“Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor” project presented in Berlin

QAZAQ GREEN.  The “Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor” project was presented at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Berlin, organized in cooperation with the Eastern Committee of German Business and the Green Energy Corridor company, Azertag reported.

The project aims to establish an energy corridor connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary to supply clean electricity to Europe. The corridor will span approximately 3,000 km, with a planned capacity of up to 4 GW of renewable energy per year. It is currently undergoing an extended techno-economic assessment and is included in the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).

The presentation covered technical implementation aspects, including submarine cable technologies, partnership models, and project development stages. Participants discussed cooperation with potential energy consumers.

Representatives of SOCAR Green, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR, provided an overview of current renewable energy projects and plans to increase generation capacity, aligned with national contributions to greenhouse gas emission reductions.
