Kyrgyzstan considers engaging Pakistani specialists for energy projects

QAZAQ GREEN. Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan have formalized plans to deepen energy cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between their respective ministries of energy. The document was signed in Islamabad during the state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan.
Energy ministers Taalaibek Ibraev and Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari held talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing joint energy projects, and supporting each other in sectoral development.
The discussions covered several areas for expanded collaboration: sharing expertise in hydropower construction and operations, developing renewable energy initiatives, further engagement within the CASA-1000 project — including seasonal two-way electricity flows — and the potential involvement of skilled Pakistani workers in projects in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting concluded with the signing of the MoU on energy cooperation.
