China to build solar farms and energy storage systems in Uzbekistan

QAZAQ GREEN. Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with executives of major Chinese companies to discuss plans to expand technological cooperation and implement new energy projects. According to Uzbek officials, direct investment from China is expected to exceed USD 15 billion this year, while the joint project portfolio stands at around USD 90 billion, as reported on the website of Uzbekistan’s President.
More than 30 energy projects with a combined capacity of about 10 GW and a value exceeding USD 9 billion are currently being implemented with Chinese participation. An additional 14 projects worth nearly USD 2 billion have also been launched.
Talks with China Datang chairman Zhou Yuanlong addressed the expansion of solar power development and the creation of new energy storage facilities. The company is also considering involvement in workforce training and establishing a dedicated laboratory.
Discussions with China Energy Engineering Corporation focused on solar power plants, energy storage systems, and further development of renewable energy projects and high-voltage grid infrastructure.
Sinoma Energy reported on the construction of a wind power plant and a blade manufacturing facility for wind turbines. The sides reviewed implementation progress and technological options to reduce industrial emissions.
Universal Energy and Poly Changda Engineering outlined plans to accelerate wind power and storage projects. China General Technology is examining opportunities to expand its activities in Uzbekistan, including the operation of a cogeneration plant.
