Voltalia and Uzbekistan partner for wind-solar-storage

QAZAQ GREEN. French renewable energy producer, Voltalia, has announced a co-development partnership with the Uzbek government to build an “electrical complex” - a multi-energy site located in Central Asia that will comprise wind, solar and battery storage capacities with a total output of 400-500MW, Windpower Monthly reports.

The agreement was signed yesterday earlier this week during the Uzbek president’s official visit to France and has been touted by Voltalia as “the first of its kind in Central Asia”.

The 400-500MW of installed power is expected to be split into 200MW wind power, 200MW of solar power and 60MW of battery storage.

The partnership is between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and Voltalia.

The site will be selected jointly by Voltalia and the Uzbek Ministry of Energy with commissioning scheduled for 2026.
