Renewable energy sources in Mangistau are gaining momentum

QAZAQ GREEN. The Akimat of Mangistau region highlighted several projects aimed at developing renewable energy sources in the area. Solar and wind power plants are currently operational in the region, Lada reports.

Here are the notable projects:

·        A 2 MW solar power plant in Batyr village of Munaili district, costing KZT 1.2 billion, with Group Independent LLP as the investor.

·        A 5 MW wind power plant in the village of Akshukur in the Tupkaragan district, with an investment of KZT 800.0 million from Best Group NS LLP.

·        A significant 43.6 MW wind power plant in the town of Fort-Shevchenko in Tupkaragan district, financed by KT Redmetal Company LLP at a cost of KZT 8.0 billion.

·        Additionally, wind power plants with capacities of 10 MW and 5 MW are operational in Zhetybai village, with investments from VES Service LLP (KZT 2.1 billion) and VES Zhangiz LLP (KZT 1.3 billion), respectively.

The Akimat emphasized that the total capacity of the commissioned renewable energy facilities amounts to 65.6 MW.

In furthering renewable energy initiatives, "Sarkylmas Kuat" LLP conducted auction tenders on November 21, 2022. They successfully awarded the construction project for a 50 MW wind power plant in Mangistau region. In accordance with the Republic of Kazakhstan's legislation "On Supporting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources," the Akimat facilitated the land plot registration process in Zhetybai village of Karakiyan district, based on the Ministry of Energy's application. An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy and "Sarkylmas Kuat" LLP, aiming to complete the project by 2027.

Azamat Sarsenbayev, a local blogger from Aktau, captured footage of wind farms along the Aktau-Zhanaozen motorway in the Karakiyanskiy district.
