System operators of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan launch the Green Corridor Project

QAZAQ GREEN. On December 27, the system operators of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan—KEGOC JSC from Kazakhstan, Azerenerji JSC from Azerbaijan, and National Grids of Uzbekistan JSC from Uzbekistan—signed a founding agreement, according to the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.
This agreement marks a significant step toward the implementation of the Green Energy Production and Transmission Project between the three countries. The initial agreement for the project was signed on November 13, 2024, by the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.
Known as the Green Corridor, this initiative aims to enhance trade opportunities while aligning with global efforts such as the European Union’s Green Deal.
Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev emphasized that the project will strengthen the resilience of energy systems in the region and advance environmental goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through green investments.
