Masdar interests in incorporating Kazakh materials in Zhambyl WPP

QAZAQ GREEN. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Masdar CEO Mohammed Al-Ramahi and ADNOC Downstream CEO Khalid Salmin, as reported by Akorda.
During his working visit to Abu Dhabi, President Tokayev highlighted the strengthening partnership between Kazakhstan and Masdar, which has now reached a new level. He noted the successful completion of agreements for a major project to construct a 1 GW wind power plant in the Zhambyl region, with a total investment of $1.4 billion.
Mohammed Al-Ramahi informed the President about Masdar’s readiness to commence construction and expressed interest in incorporating local components into the production of wind turbines as part of the project.
The discussion also touched on expanding Masdar's presence in Kazakhstan and exploring new opportunities in renewable energy and digitalization.
Also attending the meeting was Khalid Salmin, CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). President Tokayev underscored Kazakhstan's commitment to enhancing its partnership with ADNOC. Khalid Salmin emphasized promising avenues for cooperation between the national oil and gas companies of both nations, including joint investment projects in the oil and gas sector and geological exploration.
The parties paid particular attention to collaboration in digitalization and artificial intelligence.
