EBRD President updates Tokayev on progress of green transition in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud-Basso in Samarkand, Akorda reports.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation across various sectors of the economy.
In 2024, Kazakhstan’s government and the EBRD reached agreements to finance 25 projects, with total investments amounting to $935 million.
During the meeting, Renaud-Basso briefed Tokayev on the progress of the Green Transition Programme, under which the EBRD plans to invest €2 billion.
President Tokayev expressed gratitude to the EBRD for its ongoing support in developing Kazakhstan’s banking sector.
The two leaders also exchanged views on global financial trends.
