Kazakhstan–China partnership: 2,300 days of safe operation at the Zhanatas Wind Farm

QAZAQ GREEN. The Zhanatas Wind Farm in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region has marked 2,300 days of accident-free operation. Launched in 2019 with the participation of China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), the 100 MW facility became SPIC’s first clean energy project in Central Asia, DK News reports.
Equipped with 40 wind turbines, the station produces around 350 million kWh of electricity annually, saving approximately 109,500 tonnes of fuel and supplying clean power to southern Kazakhstan.
A robust safety management system and the coordinated efforts of the joint Chinese–Kazakh team have enabled the plant to maintain reliable operations under challenging climatic conditions. Today, Kazakh specialists account for 81% of the workforce, holding key positions in engineering, maintenance, and grid operations.
The Zhanatas Wind Farm stands as a symbol of sustainable cooperation between Kazakhstan and China and a benchmark for high safety standards and local expertise development.
