Three companies cleared to participate in auctions for combined-cycle plants in Astana and Shymkent

QAZAQ GREEN. Kazakhstan has identified the companies admitted to the upcoming auctions for the construction of new flexible-generation power units. The decision followed a Commission meeting held on 24 November at the Ministry of Energy, where applications from potential bidders were reviewed, according to KOREM.
Three companies have been approved: Green Era Company LLP, Fortech Industry LLP and Aksa Shymkent Energy LLP. They are now eligible to register in the electronic system of the auction organizer, the Kazakhstan Electricity and Capacity Market Operator JSC.
A key stage will take place on 15 December 2025, when two auction sessions — at 09:00 and 15:00 — will be held for projects to build 500-MW combined-cycle power plants in Astana and Shymkent. These facilities form part of a national programme to introduce new flexible generation capacities aimed at strengthening the stability of the power system.
The market operator invites the admitted companies to complete registration in the electronic auction system ahead of the bidding sessions.
