Kazakhstan and the EU strengthen cooperation on green energy

QAZAQ GREEN. Kazakhstan and the European Union announced an expansion of their partnership in sustainable energy following talks between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and António Costa. The joint statement reaffirmed plans to deepen cooperation on critical minerals, nuclear energy, petrochemicals and renewable energy projects, according to presidential press office.
Tokayev stated that both sides agreed to advance long-term initiatives in transport, raw materials and energy, supported by the EU’s €12 billion investment package for Central Asia. He underscored green energy as a central component of the next stage of cooperation.
“Kazakhstan is ready to support the EU’s €12 billion investment package for Central Asia which will launch projects in transport, raw materials, green energy and digital technologies,” Tokayev said.
The President noted that Kazakhstan and the EU reached agreements to broaden energy cooperation, including renewables and deeper integration into European supply chains through domestic processing and production with higher added value.
António Costa described the partnership as strategic and highlighted progress in transport, energy, climate policy and critical raw materials. He confirmed the launch of talks on visa facilitation and emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan’s reform agenda.
