Mini solar power plant launched at Abai clothing factory

QAZAQ GREEN. On 18 December, a pilot project introducing a platform-aggregator model for net consumers was launched in Kazakhstan, with the participation of Zhalgas Shogelbaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Energy Supervision and Control Committee of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry’s press service reported.
According to Shogelbaev, the project represents a fully operational and scalable solution rather than a pilot experiment. The model can be replicated at other enterprises gradually, without complex administrative or technical barriers.
The platform was tested at the Abai clothing factory, where a mini solar power plant was commissioned. Under the model, the enterprise provided only the site, while all stages — from equipment procurement to installation and operation — were handled by the Green Platform.
The Ministry of Energy identifies the development of net consumption as one of its priority areas. This approach contributes to energy savings, reduces transmission losses, and enhances the resilience of the national power system, particularly amid the growing integration of solar and wind generation.
To support this segment, legislative amendments were introduced in 2024 to stimulate the use of small-scale renewable energy systems by businesses and households.
Further expansion of net consumption depends on attracting investment and advancing technological outsourcing. The Green Platform applies an integrated approach, covering equipment selection, turnkey installation of solar panels, and ongoing maintenance.
