Akmola region signs $1.5 billion MoU to build data center campus and renewable energy facilities

QAZAQ GREEN. A trilateral memorandum has been signed in the Akmola region for the implementation of a large-scale investment project in digital infrastructure and renewable energy.
The document was signed following a meeting on investment attractiveness chaired by Akmola Region Akim Marat Akhmetzhanov at the Aqmola Invest office. The memorandum brings together the Akimat of Arshaly District, Akmola Industry LLP, and VTK Global Investments and Trading LLP.
The parties intend to jointly implement the Akmola infrastructure program within the industrial zone of Arshaly district. The project предусматривает phased construction of a data center campus with a total investment of $1.5 billion and the creation of around 150 permanent jobs.
The data center campus will occupy 8 hectares and include server halls, electrical substations, cooling systems, security zones, and logistics infrastructure. The initiative also includes the development of renewable energy facilities on 300 hectares, including solar installations located near the industrial zone and Babatai station.
According to the regional authorities, the project aligns with priority areas for investment, including renewable energy and value-added industries. Representatives of VTK Global Investments and Trading highlighted the region’s strong potential for developing digital infrastructure and green energy projects.
