Hong Kong company to build 50 MW wind farm in Mangistau region
QAZAQ GREEN. On November 21 this year, Kazakhstan held the eighth auction for RES for the Western zone of the UES of Kazakhstan to select wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 50MW, the website of KOREM reports.
Eight companies were allowed to participate in the auction, the participants submitted 31 price bids, and the unit capacity of the projects amounted to 50 MW. The total volume of submitted bids was 350 MW. The marginal auction price for the selection of WPP projects in 2022 was 21.53 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
In the course of the trading session, the price range of bids received from the auction bidders was between 21.53 and 14.51 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
As a result of the auction, the following company was determined as the winner:
- Sarkylmas Kuat LLP (Hong Kong), the installed project capacity is 50 MW, an auction price of 14.51 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be located near the Mangistau district of the Mangistau region.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Association of Regional Ecological Initiatives "ECOJER" and KOREM JSC observed the auction.
The observers noted full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organiser - KOREM JSC.
As a result, the auction price decreased by 32.6%, showing a good result. Auction bidding is aimed at selecting the most efficient projects and establishing market-based competitive prices for electricity produced by RES facilities.
The next auction is scheduled for November 22, 2022, for the selection of wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
