TotalEnergies acquires 435 MW UK solar and battery project pipeline

QAZAQ GREEN. TotalEnergies announced the acquisition of a significant renewable energy pipeline in the UK from Low Carbon, a prominent clean energy developer. The deal includes eight solar projects totaling 350 MW and two battery storage projects with a combined capacity of 85 MW, all located in the south of England.
The solar projects are already in advanced stages of development and are expected to become operational by 2028. Once online, they will generate more than 350 GWh of electricity annually — enough to power around 100,000 UK households.
Olivier Jouny, Senior Vice President of Renewables at TotalEnergies, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s integrated electricity portfolio in the UK, which already includes 1.1 GW of offshore wind, 1.3 GW of combined cycle gas generation, and more than 600 MW of solar capacity under development.
Low Carbon CEO Roy Bedlow praised the agreement as a key milestone: “These ready-to-build projects will play a vital role in achieving the UK Government’s Clean Power 2030 ambition and showcase our commitment to scaling high-quality renewable infrastructure.”
This acquisition reinforces TotalEnergies’ growing footprint in the UK’s renewable energy sector, contributing to its broader strategy to become a global player in clean electricity.
