China’s Sungrow and Switzerland’s Delta Capacity sign 1 GWh energy storage deal for Europe

QAZAQ GREEN. Chinese renewable energy technology company Sungrow and Swiss battery storage developer Delta Capacity have signed a framework agreement covering 1 GWh of battery energy storage systems. The agreement was announced at the Energy Storage Summit in London.
Under the deal, Sungrow will supply its PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage solution for Delta Capacity’s battery energy storage system (BESS) projects scheduled for deployment in 2026.
The agreement supports Delta Capacity’s strategy to build a diversified pan-European portfolio of utility-scale battery storage assets. The company is developing and acquiring projects across several European markets, including Scandinavia, Germany, as well as Southern and Central Europe.
According to Delta Capacity founder and CEO Patrik Hes, the company aims to create one of Europe’s highest-quality BESS portfolios designed for long-term ownership and operation.
Sungrow, one of the world’s leading providers of energy storage solutions, will deliver its liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 system. The integrated AC-DC block design with pre-assembled battery modules and power conversion systems allows faster installation and helps reduce both capital and operational costs.
The storage systems will enable participation in grid balancing, ancillary services and energy trading markets.
Founded in 2022, Delta Capacity develops, acquires and operates utility-scale battery storage projects across Europe. The company is currently implementing one of the largest BESS projects in the Nordics in Ånge, Sweden. Around 800 MWh of storage capacity is currently under construction, and the company aims to develop and operate more than 6 GWh of flexible assets by 2030.
