“Energy China” starts cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of green energy

QAZAQ GREEN. At the International Exhibition "Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan – 2024", leading foreign companies presented their stands. Among the participants of the conference are those who already working with Turkmenistan, and those who are entering its market for the first time, according to Turkmenistan Golden age.
One of these companies is the “China Energy Engineering Corporation”, which is an ultra large group of companies specializing in the construction of power plants.
“Energy China” has been included to the “Fortune 500” list for the 11 years and registered on the “A+H” stock markets. The company interacts with Central Asia, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, offering comprehensive solutions in the energy infrastructure, implementing such projects as photovoltaic energy, gas-fired power plants with combined cycle and the production of building materials.
At the exhibition in Ashgabat, the ambassador of the “Energy China” Song Tengchao, said that their organization had won a tender in the field of green energy and will begin cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan.
She stressed that our country is demonstrating rapid infrastructure growth, and their company will facilitate low–carbon energy transformation, and sustainable development in Turkmenistan and Central Asia, by using proven Chinese technologies and experience.
It’s important to note that in March 2021, the Law "On Renewable Energy Sources" came into force in the country, which creates conditions for the development of innovative projects for the production of electricity based on alternative sources such as the sun and wind.
Therefore, in July 2022, construction of the first multidisciplinary solar and wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MW began in the Gyzylarbat etrap of the Balkan Velayat, which underlines Turkmenistan's aspiration to develop renewable energy sources.
