Aktobe region to launch construction of two wind power plants in 2025

QAZAQ GREEN. The Aktobe region is set to begin construction of two wind power plants in 2025, as part of a broader effort to modernize its energy infrastructure and advance renewable energy development. These initiatives support Kazakhstan’s national strategy for transitioning to a green economy and aim to promote both environmental sustainability and long-term energy security, reports Aktyubinskiy Vestnik.
Over the coming years, five renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 450 MW are planned for implementation in Aktobe region. According to the regional Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, these projects will be financed through private investment. The expected outcomes include enhanced regional energy independence and improved environmental conditions.
Among the upcoming developments, two wind power plants with a total capacity of 100 MW will be constructed in the Khromtau district. The projects will be developed by Darmen Shuak LLP and Next Green Energy LLP, and the electricity generated will be used to supply local residents and industrial enterprises.
Looking ahead, the regional energy development strategy includes plans to boost electricity generation capacity by 1,475 MW by 2028 and 1,535 MW by 2030. These measures are expected to support the region’s growing industrial base and strengthen its production potential.
