Five companies win Kazakhstan's small HPP auction with total capacity of 21.5 MW

QAZAQ GREEN. On May 22, 2026, KOREM JSC held an auction for the selection of hydropower plant (HPP) construction projects across all zones of the Unified Power System of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
Five companies were admitted to participate, submitting five price bids in total. The total volume of applications reached 21.5 MW. All five participants were declared winners:
— Orbulaq Energy LLP — 4.9 MW, KZT 41.00/kWh;
— QazQuat LLP — 2.4 MW, KZT 40.80/kWh;
— Zhastar Quat Company LLP — 2.7 MW, KZT 40.95/kWh;
— Arasan HPP LLP — 4.5 MW, KZT 41.22/kWh;
— Company A&T-Energo A LLP — 7 MW, KZT 41.23/kWh (all prices excluding VAT).
The transparency and integrity of the electronic trading system were confirmed by observers representing the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association.
