Kazakhstan plans to attract KZT18 trillion of investments for RES development by 2029

QAZAQ GREEN. Kazakhstan has significant potential in the field of renewable energy sources (RES). The Ministry has developed and approved the schedule of auctioning for a five-year period. This was announced by Almassadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy, at a government meeting on 16 January in Astana.
"The total auctioned capacity stands at 6.7 GW, with a planned commissioning of 592 MW by the end of 2027 based on the bidding outcomes. The anticipated investment volume until 2029 is set to exceed 18 trillion KZT," highlighted Minister of Energy.
He emphasized that the execution of these projects will address the energy system's deficit and facilitate the provision of necessary reserve capacity.
"It's worth noting that the planned generation facilities will be distributed across the energy system in order to ensure a balance in electrical capacity and uniform load on the power grids," he concluded.
