Kazakhstan to build 250 roadside service stations equipped with solar panels

QAZAQ GREEN.  Kazakhstan's government has approved an investment agreement for the construction of 250 roadside service stations along roads of international and national significance. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Prime Minister.

The investor is Car Park Transformer LLP, with total private investment amounting to 179.5 billion tenge. The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport and the company in line with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's directives on developing transport and logistics infrastructure.

All 250 facilities are to be built by 2030, with the first 50 stations set to open this year. The new complexes will be multifunctional, featuring sanitary facilities, retail and service points, electric vehicle charging stations and solar energy installations. Surrounding areas will be landscaped and greened.

The project aims to expand the roadside service network to international standards, develop modern infrastructure for electric vehicles and introduce environmentally friendly solutions in the transport sector. It is also expected to boost social infrastructure in nearby regions and create 2,000 new jobs.

Currently, 1,428 roadside service facilities operate along roads of international and national significance in Kazakhstan.
