Kazakhstan poultry producer switches to solar energy

QAZAQ GREEN. Alel Agro JSC, Kazakhstan's largest broiler poultry producer, has made a significant move towards sustainability by transitioning to solar power in partnership with Elcomtel. The company has installed a 240 kW grid-tied solar power plant, which is expected to generate approximately 316,229 kWh of electricity annually.
At the current rate of KZT30 per kWh, this shift will save the company KZT9.49 million each year. Launched on September 3, 2024, the plant has already produced around 30 MWh in its first 24 days of operation, translating to a savings of KZT900,000.
This is just the start, as Alel Agro plans to expand the plant’s capacity to achieve even greater results in the future. By adopting environmentally friendly technologies, the company is playing an active role in contributing to a sustainable future for Kazakhstan.
