USAID promotes renewable energy and gender equality in Central Asia
QAZAQ GREEN. Today, USAID is partnering with the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications to host a forum on the role of women in the clean energy transition. This event brings together professionals from across Central Asia to discuss empowering women in the energy sector and advancing sustainable energy solutions.
The USAID Central Asia Energy Project, launched in October 2020, aims to help Central Asian countries capitalize on the economic benefits of cross-border energy trade and improve energy security. A key focus of the initiative is to promote training programs, attract private sector investment, and advance gender equality.
The forum also seeks to strengthen international cooperation, develop educational initiatives, and increase the number of women leaders in the renewable energy (RE) sector. It aims to foster a Central Asian community of students, educators, and professionals who work together to implement global best practices in renewable energy development and clean energy research.
