Renewable energy facilities generated 4.53% of Kazakhstan's electricity in 2022
QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has published information on electricity production by RES facilities in 2022.
In 2022, the volume of electricity produced by RES facilities in the total production of electricity amounted to 5 110 million kWh or 4,53%. The increase of electric power generation by RES objects for 2022 in comparison with 2021 is 27%.
The highest share of electric power generation belongs to WPPs - 2 411 mln kWh, the lowest one - to Biomass plants - 1,98 mln kWh, solar power plants produced 1 763 mln kWh, small hydropower plants – 934 mln kWh.
Currently, the installed capacity of RES facilities is 2 388 MW, including wind power plants - 958 MW, small hydropower plants – 280 MW, solar power plants - 1 148 MW, and bioelectric power plants - 1,77 MW.
