Uzbekistan aims to raise renewable energy share to 54% by 2030

QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has outlined plans to expand the country’s renewable energy capacity.
Thirteen solar and five wind power plants with a combined capacity of 4,782 MW have been commissioned so far. Since the start of the year, these facilities have generated 9.7 billion kWh of green electricity. Including hydroelectric plants, total renewable generation reached 15.7 billion kWh, bringing the share of clean energy to 23%.
The ministry reports that this transition has saved 2.867 billion cubic metres of natural gas and prevented 4.2 million tonnes of pollutant emissions.
Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of renewable energy in its overall energy mix to 54% by 2030, according to the Ministry of Energy.
