Total Eren to build 1GW wind farm in Zhambyl region

QAZAQ GREEN. Akim of Zhambyl region Nurzhan Nurzhigitov in Astana held a meeting with representatives of the management of the French company Total Eren, the press service of Zhambyl region reports.
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Akim of Zhambyl region, held a meeting with representatives of the management of the French company Total Eren, along with Ardak Zebeshev, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and the heads of JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST, Samruk-Kazyna.
During the meeting, they discussed the project for the construction of a 1 GW wind power plant in Moyinkum district.
Antoine Garret, the company's Vice President, noted that special attention is given to environmental protection and studies are carried out to reduce the negative impact of the new facility on the environment. He also mentioned that the construction of the wind power plant is being considered at the main and alternative site options.
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov highlighted the measures taken to allocate the land plot by the akimat and stated that the local authorities are ready to support the project.
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov said, "This project is important to us too. Work is underway to amend the relevant law to allocate the land plot. We are getting support from the ministries to resolve the issues quickly. We are ready to act jointly with the company for successful implementation of the project."
Representatives of the company will participate in the International Investment Forum "ZHEIF-2023", which will be held on 26-27 April in Taraz.
