Construction of solar power and solar panel plants discussed in Zhambyl region

QAZAQ GREEN. In Zhambyl region, the General Director of SK Water Solutions Sergey Gromov and Akim of Zhambyl region Nurzhan Nurzhigitov discussed joint projects in the energy sector, according to the press service of the Akimat of the Zhambyl region.
One of the planned projects is the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant in the region at the first stage. The company also intends to build a solar panel plant with a Turkish company.
During the meeting, they discussed the issues of land allocation. Nurzhan Nurzhigitov emphasized that the region is working systematically on the development of alternative energy and attraction of investments, in execution of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's instructions.
Zhambyl region ranks first in the republic in terms of RES capacity. At present, the Zhambyl region has 21 renewable energy objects with a total capacity of 451.3 MW, including 6 hydro power plants with a total capacity of 24.4 MW, 9 wind power plants with a total capacity of 175.65 MW, and 6 solar power plants with a capacity of 251.25 MW. These facilities produce up to 20% of the country's renewable electricity.
The Akim noted that the local executive bodies will provide full support under the state programmes and instructed the Energy and Housing and Land Relations Departments to promptly resolve problematic issues in close cooperation with the central executive authorities.
