Altynalmas joined Qazaq Green Association
QAZAQ GREEN. Altynalmas gold mining company was chosen as an accredited observer of Qazaq Green RES association. The Company thus demonstrates its commitment to high standards of sustainable development and its will to develop "green" energy.
The Qazaq Green RES Association unites investors, developers, equipment manufacturers, international financial institutions and universities interested in the development of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan. The Association members include such companies as KEGOC, NC KazMunayGas JSC, AIFC, Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Eurasian Development Bank, Huawei, Hevel and others.
AK Altynalmas JSC already has projects aimed at decarbonization in place. For example, the Company's site in the Karaganda Oblast has solar panel lighting installed between the Dolinnoye and Pustynnoye deposits. The use of alternative energy sources has improved safe working conditions for employees and taken care of the environment by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, thereby reducing the carbon footprint. The Company invested more than 178.6 million tenge in this project.

The Company aims to use the opportunities of Qazaq Green platform for B2B and B2G negotiations to find the best and most effective solutions for the introduction of "green" energy projects at its production sites.
Members of Qazaq Green Association are provided with qualified support on RES from information and analytical consultation to making proposals to state authorities, as it is an accredited organization by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Nurlan Kapenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qazaq Green RES Association: "Today we see an increasing interest of companies from the real sector in environmental issues and implementation of projects aimed at reducing the carbon footprint. The Association is ready to share its experience and hopes that Altynalmas will implement projects in the RES sector as well".
