Ckhúri Wind Farm commences commercial operations in Chile with 109 MW capacity

QAZAQ GREEN. Mainstream Renewable Power has announced that the Ckhúri Wind Farm has received its commercial operations date (COD) certificate from Chile's Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (National Electricity Coordinator).
Located in Calama, Antofagasta Region, the 109.2 MW wind farm comprises 26 Vestas turbines and is expected to supply clean energy equivalent to the consumption of approximately 166,000 homes. The facility generates power particularly at night, when solar generation decreases, strengthening the contribution to Chile's National Electric System and the country's broader energy transition.
Ckhúri is part of the Huemul Energía platform, which together with Condor Energía delivers 1.22 GW of renewable energy capacity. With Ckhúri now operational, Mainstream has nine active assets in Chile with a total installed capacity of 1,222 MW.
Manuel Tagle, General Manager of Mainstream Chile, said the milestone was made possible by the tremendous commitment of the entire team in Chile. "This achievement truly reflects the hard work, resilience, and determination of a team committed to moving forward, even under challenging conditions," he noted.
Group Chief Executive Officer Julie Berg expressed pride in the work of the Mainstream Chile team and their continued contribution to building a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix in the country.
Mainstream Renewable Power was founded in 2008 and focuses on developing utility-scale renewable energy projects in emerging markets. The company has successfully delivered 6.6 GW of wind and solar generation assets to financial close.
