Kazakhstan to build hyperscale data centre cluster powered by gas, coal and renewables

QAZAQ GREEN. Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development have signed cooperation agreements with Ample Solutions Limited and Dominor Partners Ltd, paving the way for a cluster of hyperscale data centres across the country.
The memoranda cover the development of dedicated energy infrastructure — drawing on gas, coal and renewable sources — to guarantee a reliable power supply to the facilities. The parties have also committed to localising equipment and technology production, a move aimed at reducing the country's dependence on imported hardware.
Beyond infrastructure, the agreements set out plans for knowledge and technology transfer, workforce development and the joint delivery of the Industrial & Digital Energy Hub initiative.
Authorities say the projects will draw significant foreign investment, generate employment and cement Kazakhstan's standing as a regional hub for both technology and energy.
